OUR STORY
Ruth and Mayowa first met in Lagos during a speaking engagement and connected over a shared passion for ideas and purpose. What began as a simple conversation about work soon turned into something deeper—an easy friendship filled with laughter, faith, and curiosity.
They quickly discovered how naturally their worlds aligned. Both shared a love for food, travel, family, and for making the most of every moment life offers. Each conversation drew them closer, until friendship quietly became love.
During Ruth’s birthday holiday in Crete, Greece, Mayowa asked her to spend forever with him. It was another unforgettable moment in their journey together—one that felt both spontaneous and destined.
Now, as they prepare to say their vows in Porto, they look forward to celebrating surrounded by those who have shared in their laughter, their adventures, and their story of love.

Good to Know Before You Go
Do I need a visa to travel to Portugal?
Guests traveling with Nigerian passports will require a short-stay Schengen visa. We recommend applying early through the Portuguese consulate or a visa application center.
When should I arrive in Porto?
We suggest arriving by Sunday, July 26, or early Monday, July 27, to enjoy the welcome evening and settle in comfortably.
Which airport should I fly into?
Fly into Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO), which is approximately 25 minutes from Vinha Boutique Hotel.
How do I get from the airport to my hotel?
We will be providing complimentary shuttle transfers from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) to Vinha Boutique Hotel and select nearby hotels on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Shuttles will run throughout the day in coordination with major flight arrivals. Guests can confirm their arrival times when submitting their RSVP to be assigned to a shuttle group.
For those arriving outside the scheduled times, taxis and private transfers are readily available at the airport.
Can I bring a guest?
If your invitation allows a guest, their name will appear on your RSVP form. Please confirm your guest’s attendance when you reply.
What is the expected weather in July?
Warm and sunny, with average temperatures between 25–30°C. Evenings are cooler, so bring a light jacket or wrap.
What should I wear to each event?
Refer to our Dress Code section for full details. In summary: Smart casual for the welcome event, traditional attire for the engagement, formal or glam for the wedding, and resort chic for brunch.
Are children welcome?
Our main events are designed primarily for adults, but families with children under 9 years old are very welcome to attend. We will have professional babysitting services available during the key celebrations to ensure everyone enjoys the festivities comfortably.
If you plan to attend with your children, please let us know when completing your RSVP so we can help coordinate childcare or share family-friendly activity recommendations in Porto.
Will transportation be provided between venues?
Yes. Complimentary shuttle transfers will be provided between Vinha Boutique Hotel and Torre Bella Estate on the wedding day to make travel easy for all guests.
Final pickup and return times will be shared closer to the date once the schedule is confirmed.
